RACHEL GEISLER, LMSW
Relationship & Couples Therapist Brooklyn and Virtual
Hi, I'm Rachel.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns they can't seem to change—the same argument on repeat, the same distance creeping back in, the same sense of talking without really being heard.
Maybe you love your partner deeply, but between long hours, late nights, or a schedule that never looks the same two weeks in a row, it's gotten harder to actually reach each other.
Or maybe you're not in a relationship right now, but you keep landing in the same dynamics and wondering what keeps pulling you back there.
Either way, you're in the right place.
HOW I WORK
I work with individuals and couples who are ready to do something different. Couples therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what is really happening, and begin to reconnect, while individual therapy allows us to look closely at the relationship patterns that keep showing up in your life so you can understand what's driving them and start to shift them.
My goal is to help you move beyond managing surface level tension and toward building a foundation of trust, safety, and lasting connection.
I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, psychodynamic, IFS, CBT, and DBT informed approaches, and I have a particular understanding of what it takes to maintain a relationship under real pressure. For people in hospitality, the performing arts, or other high demand fields with long hours and irregular schedules, connection can feel especially hard to protect, and that context matters in the work we do together.
WHAT I BELIEVE, AND HOW IT SHAPES MY WORK:
The therapeutic relationship is where the real work happens. In therapy we can uncover patterns of connection that help you build stronger relationships outside of the therapy room.
Insight and emotions work together to create change. Lasting change happens when you can understand your patterns and experience and process emotions in a new way.
Growth happens through curiosity, reflection, and authentic connection. My role is not to provide answers, but to explore patterns and emotions alongside you in a way that builds self understanding and more freedom in your choices.
Couples get stuck in patterns, not because they don't love each other, but because they are trying to protect themselves. I believe we can slow these moments down to find new ways of connecting that foster trust, intimacy, and emotional safety.

She draws on her own background in hospitality and the performing arts to understand what it's like to protect a relationship around a demanding or unpredictable schedule, and she leads with curiosity rather than quick fixes. Clients often describe sessions as feeling less like being analyzed and more like being understood.cription

MLP Therapy Group is an out-of-network practice. This allows us to provide care that’s tailored to your needs without the restrictions often required by insurance companies.
At the end of each month, we provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many of our clients receive between 60–80% reimbursement for sessions.
During your consultation, we’ll help you better understand your coverage, estimated reimbursement, and overall cost of care. We offer a sliding scale and want to work with you to make therapy accessible.
